Big Rig Collision Marks the Start of Its Fourth Decade of Delivering “No Hassle” Service with a New Las Vegas Location and a Bold Identity Overhaul
Calgary, AB (December 2009) —
Remember the year it snowed for 30 minutes in the Sahara Desert? The year McDonald’s introduced the Happy Meal? The year ESPN debuted, Mr. Ed died, Three Mile Island had a meltdown and Philips unveiled the Compact Disc?
We do. It was 1979; and it was the year Big Rig Collision opened for business.
In the intervening years, Big Rig has steadily grown its business…and its ironclad reputation for high-quality, stress-free service. Backing up its customer service commitments with a “No Hassle” 100% Lifetime Warranty program, Big Rig takes a no-nonsense approach to business: “We do what we say we’ll do. We charge what we say we’ll charge. And we get the job done when we say we’ll have it done. Usually sooner,” explains Brad Field, President of Big Rig Collision.
When Big Rig opens its Las Vegas location in mid-2010, it will be under a new company banner: BRC Coach & Transit.
Why change the company name after 30 years in business? Brad Field explains: “In Big Rig Collision’s early days, the name was an accurate reflection of our core focus – namely, performing collision repair for tractor trailer operators. Over the years, we’ve evolved into a leading provider of repair, refurbishment and restoration services for the motor coach and transit industries. ‘BRC’ maintains the spirit of Big Rig Collision without imposing limitations in the minds of prospective customers.”
In Las Vegas, BRC will offer the same services as its Calgary facility with full collision, refinishing, fire restoration and refurbishment all under one roof – all backed by the quick, professional, guaranteed service Big Rig is so well-known for.

Calgary, AB (October 2009) —
Coach operators and transit authorities know how it goes: a signal light switch, PA microphone, electronic destination sign or other electronic device goes on the fritz, and there’s nothing to do but toss it away and buy a brand new one.
Until now.
With the recent opening of its Electronics Rebuild Division, Big Rig Collision is putting an end to needlessly costly component replacements…and a whole lot of needless waste in the landfills.
Says Big Rig President Brad Field, “In the past, motorcoach operators and transit authorities have had to literally throw out failed electronic components and purchase new ones. There was no viable option to repair them. With our new Electronics Rebuild Division we are able, in most cases, to rebuild those components and supply them back to the owner for about 30 to 40 percent of the cost of new components. It’s a lower cost option for our customers…and a much greener one. Why fill up landfill sites with potentially hazardous, perfectly repairable electronic components when Big Rig can repair them for a fraction of the cost?”
Heading up the Electronics Rebuild Division of Big Rig Collision is George W. Wilson. With 20+ years of electrical and electronic experience in the motorcoach industry, George understands that most of the modern electronic components used on coaches and buses are repairable. “I don’t think that most companies will replace expensive electronic components when repairing them is an option,” says George. “And at Big Rig, we’re always eager to spare our customers from unnecessary expenditures.” Currently, Big Rig’s Electronics Rebuild program can rebuild more than 50 electronic components including most types of multiplex modules, HVAC controllers, voltage regulators, battery equalizers, signal light switches, monitors, video control modules, PA microphones, radio/CD players, audio amps and electronic destination signs.
For a free estimate on rebuild costs, owners can simply send their failed electronic components to Big Rig Collision. Providing the components are repairable, Big Rig will quickly complete the rebuild or, in an emergency, immediately send a replacement rebuild from their stock inventory.
